Marks USA, a manufacturer of ANSI grade-one mortise locks, has standardized its locks using investment cast stainless steel for both the latch and deadbolt. The latch is assembled with steel friction-proof fingers so doors can be closed using less pressure. The deadbolt is constructed with two hardened steel pins to resist sawing.
By utilizing stainless steel for the deadbolt, the lock will now qualify for use in most systems where mortise locks are required. In addition to these lock components, Marks has also standardized the use of stainless steel on most of its commercial knob and lever designs.
