Suzanne Barnes
Spiezle has announced that Suzanne Barnes, AIA, has joined the firm as Director of Client Services. With over four decades of experience in architecture, design, and business development, Suzanne brings a breadth of experience in senior living, healthcare, and mixed-use development to the Spiezle team. She has spearheaded large-scale senior living, mixed-use design projects that serve more than 7,000 residents.
Suzanne is a member of the AIA National Design for Aging Advisory Board, Women in Architecture, and former chair of the Orlando Foundation for Architecture. She is currently a part of the Urban Land Institute’s Real Estate Diversity Initiative (REDI), working to increase diversity in the real estate industry. She is an excellent collaborator and successfully builds meaningful relationships with owners and operators. At Spiezle, Suzanne will focus on further developing the healthcare and senior living practice groups in Florida.
Barnes’s previous roles include Director of Design and Principal Architect for various architecture firms, senior living facilities, and hospitals. She has served on numerous city and civic boards. She is the recipient of the Creating Legacies Award for Westminster Communities, the Distinguished Alumni Service Award from the University of Florida’s College of Design Construction Planning, and the AIA Nils Schweizer Community Service Award from AIA Orlando. She earned her Bachelor of Design and Master of Architecture from the University of Florida, Gainesville.
