Kurt Spiering
Flad Architects has announced that Kurt Spiering, FAIA, ACHA, EDAC, has joined the firm’s healthcare practice as Director of Strategic Innovation. Spiering is an industry leader with extensive programming and planning experience and most recently served as Vice President and Chairman of the Board of a national architecture firm. He is a recognized pioneer in Lean, Integrated Project Delivery, and prefabricated design solutions for the healthcare industry.
Spiering has led the planning and design of numerous new hospitals and additions for major healthcare systems across the country, including Allina Health/Abbott Northwestern, Froedtert Health, Johns Hopkins, Northside Hospital, SSM/Saint Louis University, UPMC, and Virtua Health. In his new role, he will support health systems in strategic planning and predesign services, including visioning, master planning, and strategic programming.
Spiering joins the firm at a time when Flad’s growth in healthcare design is expanding rapidly with major health systems in the U.S. and abroad, including: Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital, Lee Health, Northwell Health, NYU Langone Health, Penn State Health, Sanitas USA, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, Seattle Children’s, Stanford Health Care, Summit Health, Tec de Monterrey, UF Health, and UW Health.
