Daniel Herr

Daniel Herr, formerly Deputy Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services (DBHDS) since 2014, recently left his role as a state health care administrator and is joining the leadership team of Armor Correctional Health Services.

During his tenure with the state of Virginia, Herr led several initiatives that have had a measurable impact in the behavioral health field. He will be taking on the role of Market President of Virginia for Armor Correctional Health Services, a national correctional health care company that currently serves 13 correctional facilities across Virginia. In November, the Virginia Department of Corrections renewed its contract with Armor, who first began its contract with the state in 2006.

Herr’s experience and ability to implement and execute new treatment techniques will be an asset to Armor, according to CEO Otto Campo.

“We’re committed to raising the standard of care for correctional health, and Dan’s extensive experience and passion for this work aligns with our mission and our new clinical strategies,” said Campo. “We’re proud that he is inspired by the positive impact we’re having in this field, and we’re delighted to have him on our leadership team.”
