HOSPECO Celebrates 100 Years of Personal Care Products

CLEVELAND-HOSPECO, the Ohio-based firm that services the healthcare industry thanks to its profile of janitorial, food service and hospitality solutions, is celebrating its centennial of being in business.

HOSPECO was founded in 1919 to aid patients with personal care products in public restrooms.  The firm grew its offerings to eventually add toilet seat covers, vended menstrual care products and air-care products for its clients.

The company remains headquartered in Cleveland, and also has facilities in Knoxville, Tenn., Sparks, Nev., and Irvine, Calif., employing over 450 employees.  HOSPECO has more than 1,200 distributors in North American.

“For 100 years, HOSPECO has been growing strategically, innovating and creating true end-user value in each of our core product categories,” Bill Hemann, HOSPECO’s vice president of sales and marketing, said in a recent statement.  “But our success has been a result of our distribution partners who have supported us all these years.  We personally and professionally value all of our distributors and, really, our world revolves around them.  We thank each for our 100 years and we celebrate that loyalty.”

The firm is also a charter member of the ISSA (International Sanitary Supply Association), and their combined mission, the company said, is to “contribute thoughtfully to maintaining healthy, safe, and clean away-from-home environments.”

HOSPECO’s personal care products include TASKbrand disposable wipers, SaniWorks foodservice towels, disposable gloves from companies like Unigloves, MicroWorks microfiber towels/floorcare, SPHERGO flat surface cleaning systems, AirWorks air care, Evogen menstrual care products and Health Gards disposable toilet seat covers.

“We couldn’t have continued to grow, maintain relevance, and innovate for over 100 years without the talent and dedication of our HOSPECO team, whose passion and dedication to our mission and our customers will continue for the next 100 years,” Hemann said.  “We recognize and thank all the generations of HOSPECO employees.”
