HDR Design Principal Sangmin Lee, KIA, LEED AP BD+C, has been promoted to bring his talent and expertise to China as a regional director for health. With 16 years of experience in design and architecture and extensive work in Asia, Lee will lead design teams and build new opportunities for HDR healthcare projects in China. His expertise in the cultural implications of design around the globe will bring a new perspective to HDR’s global health practice.
Lee has worked in over 10 countries with diverse cultures throughout the world, including China, United Kingdom, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, United Arab Emirates and the U.S. His diligence in melding cultural identity with corporate identity through a global understanding of differences in how services are marketed and delivered has established his reputation for implementing innovative branding strategies into the design process. Lee earned a Master of Architecture at Yale University in 2003. He also earned his Bachelor of Engineering at Hoseo University in South Korea, as well as an additional Master of Architecture at Kyonggi University in South Korea.
