Gresham, Smith and Partners (GS&P) recently announced the promotion of Brian Tharpe to the position of vice president in the firm’s building engineering department. In his new role, Tharpe will be responsible for providing efficiencies to GS&P’s design approach and operational leadership related to the firm’s structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical engineering disciplines. Tharpe has worked with GS&P since 1994 and has experience managing the company’s structural department, quality assurance and deadline management. Tharpe is a member of the Tennessee Structural Engineers Association and the American Institute of Steel Construction. He also teaches a graduate-level course at Vanderbilt University.
