Mark Tiscornia

The American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) has announced that Mark Tiscornia, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP BD+C, health care principal in HDR’s Phoenix architecture studio, has earned board certification in health care architecture. Tiscornia recently passed an accredited examination, which assesses the knowledge and understanding of architects who specialize in health care.

He joins the ranks of more than 400 of his ACHA colleagues in the United States and Canada who have received this important architectural credential. In addition to the exam, architects must submit a data-heavy portfolio that documents his or her body of work and outlines their experience, including six recommendation letters from clients and peers.

With more than 20 years of experience in all phases of the health care design and construction process, Tiscornia is a recognized expert in leading teams for large-scale academic, acute care and ambulatory health care facilities, particularly in California and Arizona. Having spent the last 10 years driving the design and construction of over $1.5 billion in hospital construction projects, he has developed a keen sense for managing risk in the design process.
