With the new 12-outlet HP Intelligent Power Distribution Units (iPDU), devices such as blade and non-blade servers, storage and third-party gadgets for power management of data center deployments can be automatically tracked and monitored. Delivering up to 99 percent accuracy, the system uses power cables with embedded communication lines to relay and map out information directly to software, according to the company. Available with a built-in remote management feature, the vendor-neutral iPDU incorporates Power Discovery Services (PDS) to combine the system with power supplies and communicate directly with attached servers and modules.
