Martin Gilliat was appointed to principal of Cannon Design, an international architectural firm. He will be responsible for helping the firm expand its presence in the healthcare and general practice markets. He has more than 20 years of experience designing hospitals in Europe and Asia. Nirmal Mangal, AIA, FIIA, also joined the firm as vice president. Mangal has more than 30 years of experience, with a portfolio that includes healthcare and science, higher education and research facilities.

Michigan-based architectural firm Kingscott Associates announced the promotion of Dan Tryles, AIA, LEED AP, to senior associate and the promotion of Aaron Felske, P.E., LEED AP, to associate. Tryles has been with the firm for more than 11 years and Felske joined the firm more than four years ago.


HTL LLC, a provider of architectural testing services in Riviera Beach, Fla., hired Lucas Turner, P.E., to manage the company’s simulated thermal services. Turner has more than 12 years of experience in engineering, product design and project management.


PCS Project and Construction Services Inc., a construction management firm headquartered in Cleveland, hired Alex Belkofer as a member of its construction management staff. Belkofer graduated from Ohio State University in 2009 with a dual degree in architecture and construction systems management.


Varco Pruden Buildings, a provider of metal building systems based in Memphis, Tenn., named Mark Tender national sales manager for its newly launched VP Roof System program. Tender previously served as customer service manager for AEP-SPAN’s eastern region.


Landscape architectural firm David Miller/Associates Inc. hired Charity L. Burkhart as landscape architectural designer. Burkhart had served as an intern at the firm since 2007.
Khaled Husein joined New York-based construction management, engineering, architecture and surveying firm HAKS as vice president of the construction management division. Husein was as an executive at URS Corp. for more than 20 years and previously served as deputy general manager at Saudi Binladin Group-RPD.


International full-service engineering, construction and operations group CH2M Hill Ltd. named Howlie Davis to the newly created position of senior vice president and director of government affairs for its Denver-based North American operations division. Based in Washington, Davis will direct CH2M’s federal, state and local government teams.


Jeff Conner joined Eckenoff Saunders Architects, based in Chicago, as project manager. Previously, Conner worked as project architect at Goettsch Partners in Chicago.


Gkkworks, an architecture and construction services firm based in southern California hired Kenneth Buck as regional director for its San Diego office. He will manage regional operations primarily in the healthcare, education and government sectors.

Peter de Vos was named chairman and CEO of Tennessee Valley Infrastructure Group, a Tennessee-based company that specializes in wind energy. De Vos previous served for eight years as head of U.S. investment banking for RBC Capital Markets.


Wagner Companies, a manufacturer of handrail fittings and metal products based in Wisconsin, appointed Anthony R. Goodings to the newly created position of director of sales. Goodings has 22 years of sales and account experience and previously worked for Herman Miller Inc., McGraw-Hill Construction, Johnson Controls and Olon Industries.


Pittsburgh Corning Corp., a manufacturer of building materials based in Pennsylvania, hired Paul J. Treml as marketing manager for its Foamglas industrial insulation product line. Before joining Corning Corp., Treml was vice president of marketing and communications at GA Communications Inc. in Atlanta.


High Concrete Group in Lancaster, Pa., hired Rick S. Scheetz as president, where he will oversee operating and leadership strategies. Before working for Concrete Group, Scheetz was vice president of Lafarge North America.


Organizations


Parkland Health Hospital in Dallas named Frank E. Hameon senior vice president of finance. He will oversee the finance and accounting for the hospital system.


The Joint Commission, a nonprofit certification organization for healthcare organizations, appointed healthcare executives Nancy Howell Agee and R. Timothy Riceto its board.


The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology named ophthalmologist William H. Ehlers as its 20th president. Ehlers is an expert in contact lenses and has 20 years of experience in the field.


The Center for Health Value Innovation, a healthcare reform center, appointed Dr. Paul Grundy to its board of directors. Grundy also serves as the director of healthcare transformation for IBM.
