CLEAN ENERGY STORAGE FLYWHEEL

From Pentadyne Power Corporation comes the VSS+dc cabinet, a self-contained “plug-&-play” system, containing four major modules, and designed to store energy mechanically in the form of kinetic energy.

The main control module, magnetic levitation module, power conversion module and the flywheel module (containing the flywheel inside of a hermetically sealed canister) all function to keep the flywheel rotor spinning continuously, 24/7, until called upon to release the stored energy through a generator, such as a reluctance motor generator. The amount of energy available and its duration is governed by the flywheel mass and speed.

The device can be integrated with a double conversion UPS from leading manufacturers. Using one or several paralleled units serves the power requirements of most UPS systems.
